Walthamstow Avenue take to the pitch again in Italy

Since Walthamstow was  home to the National Plastics factory between 1936 and 1982, I suppose it’s entirely appropriate to see The Avenue honoured in plastic.

Subutteo fan Muccagialla over at the Italian Old Subutteo forum, has lovingly recreated the 1953 A’s team in miniature. I don’t speak Italian, so I’m not quite sure how he did it (I think he may have gone so far as to custom cast the players in a specially created mould – something to do with the old rugby shirt style collars), but I’ve got to admire his work. He even appears to have knocked up a box. Bellissimo!
